"Deanie" 61, died at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday (December 18, 1996) in Wilson N. Jones' Hospital where she had been a patient for a short time. She was born July 17, 1935 in Sherman, Texas , a daughter of William
Robert and Ella Mae(Steele)
Jones.
"Deanie"
was retired after 23 + years from Texas Instruments. She attended Sherman High School, and the
American School of Chicago.
Surviving is her "Best Friend" and loving husband for 42 years, Homer Curtis Allison, a 39 year veteran retired as a Sherman Fire Fighter and Paramedic. They married October 3, 1954, at East Sherman Baptist Church. One son, Don Robert, and his wife Joan Patricia (Hughes) Allison, two grandsons, Douglas Dean Allison, Robert Curtis and his wife Jennifer Faith (Aune) Allison, and two great grand children, Jessica Brook, and Sean Douglas Allison. Services will be held Friday, December 20, 1996, at Forest Ave. Baptist Church, where her and her husband are long time members. The presiding clery will be thier Pastor, Rev. Stephen Warren,and Rev. David Griffin, a long time friend.Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery, just north of Pottsboro, Texas. Waldo Funeral Home will conduct the services. Allison, 68 retired Burlington Industries employee of 315 W. Olive St. He died Sunday at a Sherman hospital. Services will be
conducted by Rev. Calvin Ussery, pastor of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church, with burial at Cedarlawn
Memorial Park under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.Mr. Allison was born at home in Van Alstyne, Texas son of Thomas Marion Allison. He married Lou Ellen (Hicks) on Oct. 10, 1925, he was employed at Burlington Industries for 35 years and at his retirement in 1971 he was supervisor of the cloth room. He was a deacon of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church and taught the Junior boys Sunday School class. Survivors are his wife, Sons, Homer Curtis Allison, and Marley Phillip Allison both of Sherman. Marion Truett Allison Jr. and Douglas Dean Allison, both of Howe, Texas, Edwin Don Allison of Plano, Texas, and Virgil Ray Allison of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughters, Mrs. Mary Alice Gordan of Carrolton, Texas, and Charlotte Ann Underwood of Howe, Texas. His brothers, Eunice Murphy Allison of Pottsboro, Texas, Nolan Thomas Allison of Howe, Texas, Trammell Denton Allison of Westminister, Texas. Sisters, Mrs. Bessie Bruton of Sherman, Texas, and Mrs Verta Bee Bruton of Dallas, Texas; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandson. The Family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and other times at the residence. Pallbearers will be Willis Hastings, Frank Abernathy, Randell McDonald, R.C. Jones Hospital will be held 2 p.m., Sunday in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. L.A. Sublett of the First Baptist Church of Pottsboro, Texas will officiate and burial will be in Locust Cemetery. Virgle Ray was born on the "Old Ray Place" in Grayson County, the son of Marion Truett Sr. and Lou Ellen Hix Allison, and a member of the Pottsboro First Baptist Church. He had been disabled several years. Surviving are his mother, Lou Ellen Hix Allison of Sherman, Texas,; Son Calvin Ray Allison of Bells, Texas; daughter, Karla Kay Allison Broyles of Bells; Brothers, Homer Curtis and Marley Phillip Allison, both of Sherman, Texas; Marion Truett Jr. and Douglas Dean Allison both of Howe, Texas; Edwin Don Allison of Arlington, Texas, and Mrs. Mary Alice Gordan of Carrolton, Texas, and Charlotte Ann Huntsman of Monroe, Ga; and three grand children. Howe, Texas - Funeral services for Millard Fillmore Allison, 91, retired farmer who died at home Tuesday at 4:45 p.m., were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Howe Baptist Church. Burial burial was in Hollway Cemetery, directed by Dannel Funeral Home. Millard was born in Tennessee, July 4, 1857. Jones Hospital. He lived on route 1 Sherman. Rev. D.A. Nowell of Dripping Springs and Rev. W.J. Epting of Sherman will officiate. Pallbearers will James Allison, Robert Allison, J.D. Allison Jr., Guy Honeycutt, W.T. Allison, Nolin Allison, and Eunice Allison. Burial will be in Holloway Cemetery, directed by Waldo Funeral Home. William had farmed in the Sherman area for 45 years before retiring in 1945 because of ill health. He was a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, and came to Grayson at the age of seven. He was a student at Berea College and formerly worked for Automatic Vending of Lexington.Jim was born in Fort Worth,Texas, and lived in Denton, Texas. He had been a resident of Berea for the past 13-1/2 years. He was a member and deacon of the Cave Spring Christian Church located in Jackson County, KY. Jim attended Berea College and worked in the college library. He was co-chair of Parents In Education at Foley Middle School. Surviving are his wife, Veronica Van Winkle Allison of Berea,Kentucky; Parents, James Millard Jr. and Jeanette McAllister Allison of Sherman, TX; twin daughters, Aaron Michelle Allison and Laura Ashley Allison, both at home; sister, Linda Kaye Allison Little of Sherman; brother, Larry Joe Allison of Sherman; and a number of nieces and nephews. Norman Lee Allison of Ooltewah died Sunday afternoon in a local hospital. He was 63. Norman Lee was a native of Kentucky and lived in Chattanooga for the past 31 years. He was retired from Credit Thrift with 31 years of service and was employed by Capital Motors Toyota as a car salesman. He was a graduate of Bowling Green Business University and was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.He was a son of the late Olive Lee and Sibyl Eliza Penrod Allison and was preceded in death by a son, James Page "Jim" Allison. Survivors include his wife, Pansy Page Allison; two daughters, Mrs. Jennifer Reynolds, Hendersonville, Tenn., and Patricia Ann Allison, Red Bank; two sons, Scott Allison, Chattanooga and Andrew Lee Allison, Hannibal, Mo.; five grandchildren Joshua, Jessica, and Rachel Allison of Hannibal, Mo., Nicholas and T.J. Reynolds, Hendersonville, Tenn. Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at White Oak Baptist Church with Dr. John H. Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Skaggs Creek Perpetual Fund Tompkinsville, Ky. The family will receive friends today after 4 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel.
